Do you know that God is a good Dad? When I say good, I don’t just mean He has a good character or does good things—both are true—but I also mean He is good at being a Father. God is not a new father; He has gone through this fatherhood process multiple times before and knows exactly what He is doing.

He did not need to learn to be a Father, but God is experienced in dealing with people and difficult situationsThis should inspire us to bring our concerns to Him, knowing He is fully aware of them and capable of handling them.   God is a competent Father.

At times, you probably feel that your situation is unique. However, the truth is that this is not the first occasion He has faced your circumstances. You are not His first child in this predicament. Many others have come before you, and there will be more after you.

In Matthew 7:7-11, Jesus makes an important point about parenting. Parents will give their children “good things” they ask for. A good parent will give their child bread if they ask for it. A good parent will give their child meat if they ask for it.

According to Jesus, a parent’s affection for their child is evil compared to God’s love for His children.

God loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, for our sake. He also gave us all things through Jesus Christ.

He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Romans 8:32 (ESV)

Is God your Father? What do you need from your Daddy today?

Ask, for He is listening and ready to meet your needs. God knows how to help us and invites us to ask, seek, and knock. Our good Dad knows how to provide for His household and protect His dear children. He is a responsible Father.

The assurance we have in His Word is that EVERYONE who asks receives.  EVERYONE who seeks, finds and EVERYONE who knocks, it will be opened.
